Bela wrote Maura on a Bicycle during a trip to Ireland with Jerry Douglas and Maura O'Connell. Maura had to ride a stationary bike in the window of a store for charity which inspired the tune and the name.

Stout and Molasses is frequently played outside of this medley as an intro to Cheeseballs in Cowtown. They work well together even though they were released on two different "Tales from the Acoustic Planet" albums.
